In March 2010, the English European classes (4e and 3e) visited Scotland accompanied by Mrs Orenbuch, Mrs Catalan, Mrs Vercoustre, Miss Boireau and Rory, the English assistant.

The trip lasted 6 days. To get to Scotland, the pupils and teachers took the overnight ferry from Belgium and then the bus from Hull to Edinburgh. We visited many interesting places such as Edinburgh Castle, Camera Obscura (an optical illusions museum), the Kelvingrove Art Galleries (Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibition), Loch Lomond and the Wallace monument in Stirling.

One of the highlights of the trip turned out to be the morning visit of Belmont Academy Secondary school in Ayr. Our Scottish correspondents gave our pupils a guided tour of the school and they loved it !! This event even appeared in the local paper.

During the trip, the pupils stayed in the homes of Scottish families and this enabled them to practise their English and taste the local food.
In spite of the rain, the pupils enjoyed the trip and many of them said that they’d like to return to Scotland one day.
